Minor League
The Minor League program is a competitive league that is open to
youth between the ages of eleven and nine years old. The minor
league functions as a challenging training ground as kids prepare for
the highest level of play in the Major Leagues. Eleven-year-olds
enjoy the level of competition the Minor League affords them—they
are challenged, but not overmatched.
Teams compete for the regular season championship
and runner-up trophy. At the completion of the regular season,
teams are seeded and the Playoffs begin. The tournament
champion and runner-up team are each awarded trophies. Players are selected via a draft. Minor League
games are played on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Phillies Win Championship
The
Phillies beat the Cubs in the Minor League
Tournament Championship game, by scoring the winning run in the
bottom of the seventh inning. The Phillies battled back from being
down 6-runs in the 6th inning to tie the game.
The
Cubs fought hard and scored 5 runs in the top of the 7-inning. The
Phillies never gave up however, and put together an impressive 6-run
inning to first tie the game and then win it with 2-outs.
Final score: Phillies 17, Cubs 16.
This was the longest game in HOYB history at 3 1/2 hours! Congratulations to the
Phillies and the Cubs for a
great and exciting game!
The Phillies also captured the regular season championship
via a great second half comeback. Congrats to the Phillies players and
coaches for a super season!
Congratulations are also in order for
the Giants who were the regular season runner-ups (winning
the tie-breaker against the Cubs) with a solid 8-6 record!
