Minor League
The Minor League program is a competitive league that is open to youth between the ages of eleven and nine years old or in the 3rd, 4th or 5th grade.  The minor league functions as a challenging training ground as kids prepare for the highest level of play in the Major Leagues.  Eleven-year-olds enjoy the level of competition the Minor League affords them—they are challenged, but not overmatched.

Teams compete for the regular season championship and runner-up trophy.  At the completion of the regular season, teams are seeded and the Playoffs begin.  The tournament champion and runner-up team are each awarded trophies.  Players are selected via a draft.  Minor League games are played on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Results from Tuesday, May 6 ...

Blue Jays 16, Dodgers 7 - The Dodgers and Blue Jays met for the second time this season. With heads up base running, the Jays took an early lead. The defense protected the lead with good plays by Connor Broussard at third, Lawton Berke picking off a runner at first, and Jason Jenkins with two put outs at first. Edward Yen made a valiant attempt to catch a pop-up at second, and Jack Van Camp threw to Alex Hurd behind the plate for a tag out to end the game. The Dodgers offense came alive in the third and fourth innings with hits from Eric Ottman, Eric Gjormand, Brandon Struthers, and Austin Skinner, but was unable to overcome the Blue Jays' lead.

Reds 8, Astros 7 - The Reds beat the Astros 8-7 in a tight four inning game. This was a back and forth battle, with the Astros breaking a 5-5 tie in the top of the third inning after a lead off single to center field by Alex Huff. Alex later scored ahead of Wendell Orange when the Astros took a 2-run lead. Dillon Suzuki came on in relief to shut down the Astros with 3 Ks in the 3rd inning and 3 quick outs in the final inning. The Reds tied it in their half of the 3rd inning on a single by AC Boynton, an RBI double by Nick Rowe and a ground out RBI by Jacob Schuh. The Reds manufactured the game winning run in the last inning on a pair of walks, a ground out by Alejandro Valtierra to advance the runner to third, and a wild pitch to end the game. The Astros once again took the Reds to the very last out. A great effort by both teams tonight.

Athletics 11, Yankees 10

Skyler Lubreski had two hits, pitched 2 strong innings, and caught an outfield fly for the Yankees. Ronald deCastro made a great catch early in the game. Alejandro Valtierra got his first hit as part of the Reds 6th inning comeback.

Blue Jays 10, Athletics 5 - The Blue Jays' pitching staff was on the mark. Connor Broussard threw a 4-pitch first inning against the A's top of the order, closing out the inning with a double play, Jordon Lee pitched for the first time and held the A's to one run, Cole Palley closed out two innings with four strikeouts and two plays from the mound, and Alex Hurd pitched in the sixth inning to end the game with three straight strikeouts. The Jays' bats were alive with every player putting a bat on the ball during the first three innings to score 10 runs. During the third and fourth innings, Matthew House shut down the Jays' offense with 5 straight strikeouts and smashed a two-run hit to bring the A's to within 5.

Astros 13, Dodgers 12

Results from Thursday, May 1 ...

Reds 7, Athletics 5 - The Reds beat the Athletics 7-5 in four innings. This was an outstanding pitching duel. The Athletics got 11 of 12 outs by strike out (Merkel - 6, Stievater - 3 and House - 3) and the Reds got 12 of 12 outs by strike out (Suzuki - 6, Valcicak - 3 and Boynton - 3). The difference in the game was aggressive Reds baserunning and the number of walks for each team. The Athletics received 5 walks and scored 5 runs. The Reds received 7 walks and scored 7 runs. Austin Merkel (A's) and Jacob Schuh (Reds) both got key hits and RBIs for their respective teams. Overall, this was a tough battle of some of the league’s better pitchers.
